Our Philanthropy
“Gamma Phi is passionate about our philanthropic focus because we know today’s girls face more challenges than ever, making the need for safe place with supportive mentors even greater. Girls need women in their lives who can help them develop the skills to succeed in life. Gamma Phi Beta's are those women.” (Gamma Phi Beta Internationals)
Our philanthropic focus is Building Strong Girls and we support our philanthropic partner, Girls on the Run. Girls on the Run is an after-school program that teaches elementary and middle school girls to be joyful, healthy and confident. The girls participate in a fun and encouraging program that teaches them about physical health, mental health and personal relationships.

Moonball is a signature philanthropy event at every collegiate chapter across North America. Each chapter picks kickball, volleyball, or basketball. We invite other Greek houses and organizations for raise money and awareness for our girls.
Girls on the Run Race
At the end of the fall semester, our chapter goes to Birmingham, AL to attend the annual GOTR race. The 5k race is a tangible goals the girls work towards all season. We make bows and posters. At the race, we cheer for the girls on the side or participate as a running buddy.
Carnation Sale
On Valentines Day, we set up tables on the quad and sell carnation flowers. It’s a great way to build community and fundraise to support our philanthropy.

From our Philanthropy Chair
Hello! My name is Adeline "Addie" Amon, and it is truly a privilege to serve as the Philanthropy Chairwoman for the Epsilon Lambda Chapter of Gamma Phi Beta. Our philanthropic mission, Building Strong Girls, is a commitment I hold in the highest regard. I have always believed that every girl deserves someone in her corner, someone who encourages her, believes in her, and shows up when she needs support. Stepping into that role, both within our chapter and in our local community, is an honor I don’t take lightly.
I love working hands‑on in our philanthropy events, whether it’s volunteering, connecting directly with the girls we support, or collaborating with sisters to bring our ideas to life. I strive to take the strengths they already embody and help turn them into something even bigger, something that reaches beyond our walls. There is something incredibly meaningful about seeing the impact of our efforts up close.
One of my favorite parts of this role is planning events that bring people together for a cause greater than ourselves. Moonball is an energetic, spirited tournament that unites the Greek community while supporting Girls on the Run. But beyond the excitement, what I love most is seeing our chapter show up with genuine enthusiasm and heart. Those moments remind me why this work matters and why I am so passionate about it.
My goal this year is to inspire our members to show up wholeheartedly for our philanthropy—not out of obligation, but out of genuine belief in the impact we can make. I want every sister to feel the meaning behind what we do and to experience firsthand how powerful it is when we stand together for the girls in our community.
I am truly grateful for the opportunity to lead our chapter’s philanthropic efforts. I cannot wait to see the growth, the impact, and the joy we create together. I invite you to explore our philanthropy and see the passion we have for Building Strong Girls.
With love,
Addie

Our philanthropic efforts do not stop at our signature events. There are many more ways our chapter works to support our philanthropy. Outside of our annual events, each year differs in the additional philanthropic work we do.
We get involved with the Greek community and other organizations. We co-host events and support other chapters/organizations. Another way we support our philanthropy is by having percentage days, allowing us to support our philanthropy and the local business we are partnering with.
