GO GREEK, GO GAMMA

From our Membership VP

Dear Potential New Members,

I am truly honored to serve as the Membership Vice President for Gamma Phi Beta’s Epsilon Lambda Chapter. When I went through recruitment, I was searching not just for a house, but a home. As someone who moved across the country for college, I left behind everything familiar—my sister, my family, my home, and the version of myself I had always known. I came to Alabama hoping to find a place where I could start on a new journey and build something of my own, but what I found in Gamma Phi Beta is more than I could’ve wished for.

Growing up as the youngest sister, I was always used to having someone to look up to and follow in their footsteps. This support and guidance growing up was a blessing and strengthened me into the woman I am today—a woman who now gets the opportunity to become that person for others and help those behind me follow in a sister’s, even if not biological, footsteps as they transition into college. Gamma Phi Beta gave me the confidence to step into my own identity, to lead, and to support the women around me.

Over time, I realized this chapter had given me something I didn’t even know I was missing—the chance to be a big sister to not just one person, but to an entire group of women. To be someone others can lean on, grow alongside, and help them find a home away from home. I can confidently say that Gamma Phi Beta has become my second home, with a second family all the way across the country. Now, moving back for the summer, I miss my GPHI home just as much as I did freshman year when I came to college without my family. What a privilege it is to have so much love around me and in Gamma Phi.

This sisterhood is built on support, growth, and genuine connection. It’s the people who push you to be better, who celebrate you at your highest, and who stand beside you when life gets tough. No matter where you come from, you will never have to navigate this experience alone.

Serving as Membership Vice President is more than a role—it is an opportunity to lead, to give back, and to help create that same sense of belonging for the next class of women. I am so excited to meet each of you and help you find a place where you can grow into who you’re meant to be, surrounded by people who feel like home.

IIKE,
